Dr. Manaseh Mawufemor Mintah is an environmental policy expert, legal scholar, and development strategist dedicated to advancing sustainable governance and resource accountability across Africa. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Benevia Environmental, a multidisciplinary enterprise focused on environmental consulting, legal advisory, and sustainable resource management solutions. Dr. Mintah holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England, where his research, “Repositioning Traditional Leaders in the Fight Against Illegal Gold Mining in Dunkwa-Offin, Ghana,” examined the intersection of Indigenous governance, environmental justice, and sustainable mining. He also earned a Juris Doctor (JD) in Environmental Law from the Massachusetts School of Law, a Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, and is currently pursuing an LL.M. in International Minerals and Energy Law and Policy at the University of Dundee. With extensive experience in both the United States and Ghana, Dr. Mintah has worked with institutions such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Guinness Ghana Limited, specializing in occupational health, environmental compliance, and sustainable development planning. His work integrates Afrocentric and decolonial approaches to governance, emphasizing cultural integrity, environmental accountability, and community participation in policy implementation. A prolific writer and public speaker, Dr. Mintah has published widely on issues of natural resource governance, traditional authority, environmental law, and sustainable development. His commentaries appear in major Ghanaian and international media outlets, where he continues to advocate for institutional reform, environmental ethics, and inclusive development policies. Through Benevia, Dr. Mintah is building a platform that bridges academia, law, and policy — empowering communities, industries, and governments to pursue sustainable, transparent, and equitable environmental solutions.
